Help

Welcome to our crypto portfolio tracking app! This page will guide you on how to make the most of our tools and answer your questions.

Introduction

Our app is designed to help crypto investors monitor their portfolio, analyze risks, and make informed decisions. Users gain access to dynamic tools, comprehensive charts, and tailored analysis scores for a deeper understanding of their investments.

Main features

Portfolio

The purpose of this page is to give you an overview of your portfolio. Statistics on your performance are displayed, along with a table showing all your coins.

Edit Coins

In this section, you'll find a table listing all your coins, slightly different from the one on the Portfolio page. Here, you don't see your performance, nor how close you are to your target, but only the raw data you entered when declaring your assets. This is where you can add new tokens, modify existing ones or delete them.

When using the application, everything you add will be saved locally in your web browser, meaning you retain total control over your data. The drawback is that you can't automatically synchronize your data between your devices (your computer and your smartphone, for example). Development is already underway for the next version, in which you will be able to choose to create a user account and save your portfolio.

Security Center

This is where you'll find an assessment of the security of your portfolio, with scores and charts.

Trend Indicators

The main purpose of this section is to provide you with up-to-date data on certain trend indicators. You'll find links to the official sources of this data (CoinMarketCap, CoinAnk, Google Trends, etc.), as well as some data extracted and displayed directly in your space, with a color scheme to give you an idea of the importance of the value. By consulting this page regularly, you'll be able to keep abreast of trends and make informed decisions.

Settings

In your settings area, you can choose your reference currency (which will be used to display all monetary values in the app), your theme (light or dark), as well as define your total amount invested and your final target. These last two values are used to calculate your performance and progress towards your goal.

How to use the app

Add an asset to your portfolio

When you first enter the app, your portfolio is not completely empty. It's filled with default values that give you an initial idea of how the different sections work. So when you decide to update it by adding your real assets, you need to start by removing these tokens (BTC and ETH) which are present by default. To do this, you can use the "Remove default coins" button on the Edit Coins page.

The next step is to add each of your assets manually.

  • Click on "Add a new coin". A modal opens. Fill in each field:
    • The token field is searchable, you can start entering the token symbol or protocol name, and you benefit from autocompletion which displays matching results. In Falcoin, you can use the first 1000 coins in the CoinMarketCap ranking.
    • The "number of tokens owned" corresponds to the number of tokens you own, with the precision after the decimal point that you require.
    • The "amount invested" is the amount you have invested in this token, in your reference currency (the one chosen in the Settings page).
    • The "target performance" is the performance you are aiming for this asset. A performance of +100% corresponds to a 2x.
    • Finally, the "location of your asset" field corresponds to the way you hold this crypto: Centralized exchanges are all exchange platforms, brokers and banks, a Hot wallet corresponds to a wallet like MetaMask that lets you control private keys while connected to the Internet, and a Cold Wallet corresponds to any physical wallet disconnected from the network (like Ledger or Tangem).
  • Then click on "Save coin".

Later, when you need to edit some coin values, you may click on the pencil icon in the table. This will open the same modal as before, but with filled fields. Edit what you want and click the same "Save coin" button. If you wish to remove a token from your portfolio, do the same but click on the "Remove coin" button, once the modal is open.

Monitor your performance

The main Portfolio page presents a certain amount of information. In particular, you'll find the settings you've saved (total ever invested and final target), as well as your absolute performance in monetary value and percentage. There's also a map of your assets, so you can see at a glance the distribution of your cryptos and their weight in the overall portfolio. Finally, the full table gives you details about your tokens: invested value, current value, performance and progress towards your target.

Assess your security

The Security Center is the place where you'll find an assessment of the security of your portfolio. We use a number of criteria to assess different aspects of your positions:

  • portfolio diversification: do you have a healthy spread, or a large portion of your capital in a single asset?
  • control of your tokens: do you control your wallet and private keys, or do you go through exchange platforms or banks?
  • confidence in your assets survival: do they have a large capitalization or are they more likely to fail?
  • liquidity: can you exit your positions quickly?
  • volatility: are you highly exposed to volatility or are you positioned on stablecoins?

From these scores, we calculate an overall security score that gives you an indication of the risks associated with your portfolio at a given moment. As soon as you update your coin list, these scores and charts are automatically updated.
